Breakouts in 5th Grade

Ms. LeCates and I kicked 4th quarter off with a bang with a decimal Breakout; just one part of her math stations. I borrowed and slightly modified a Breakout from Leasha Wolterman . It was really awesome to be able to do a Breakout in a small group so that I could be totally present and notice any kinks I needed to work out for the next groups. It was SO hard to be quiet and let them struggle. They only used one hint and they had a great time. They technically didn't breakout because the timer had already gone off, but they only missed it by like 5 seconds. Head over to the website to see more!
